Droplet-superfluid compounds in binary bosonic mixtures

چکیده
While quantum fluctuations in binary mixtures of bosonic atoms with short-range interactions can lead to the formation a self-bound droplet, for equal intracomponent but an unequal number two components, there is excess part that cannot bind droplet. Imposing confinement, as here through periodic boundary conditions one-dimensional setting, droplet becomes amalgamated residual condensate. The rotational properties this compound system reveal simultaneous rigid-body and superfluid behavior ground state uncover condensate carry angular momentum even absence vorticity. In contradiction intuitive idea fraction would be entirely made up not bound by we find evidence higher than what one expect such picture. Our findings are corroborated analysis elementary excitations system, shed new light on coexistence localization superfluidity.

Phase Dependence of Phonon Tunneling in Bosonic Superfluid-Insulator-Superfluid Junctions
We consider the tunneling of phonon excitations across a potential barrier spatially separating two condensates with different macroscopic phases. We analyze the relation between the phase difference φ of the two condensates and the transmission coefficient T by solving the Bogoliubov equations. It is found that T strongly depends on φ, and that the perfect transmission of low-energy excitation...
متن کاملBubble and droplet motion in binary mixtures: Evaporation-condensation mechanism and Marangoni effect.
Bubble and droplet motion in binary mixtures is studied in weak heat and diffusion fluxes and in gravity by solving the linearized hydrodynamic equations supplemented with appropriate surface boundary conditions. Without gravity, the velocity field is induced by evaporation and condensation at the interface and by the Marangoni effect due to a surface-tension gradient. In pure fluids, the latte...
متن کاملFrictionless flow in a binary polariton superfluid.
We study the properties of a binary microcavity polariton superfluid coherently injected by two lasers at different momenta and energies. The crossover from the supersonic to the subsonic regime, where motion is frictionless, is described by evaluating the linear response of the system to a weak defect potential. We show that the coupling between the two components requires that either both com...
متن کاملRelativistic models for Superconducting-Superfluid Mixtures
The material below the crust of a neutron star is understood to be describable in terms of three principal independently moving constituents, identifiable as neutrons, protons, and electrons, of which the first two are believed to form mutually coupled bosonic condensates. The large scale comportment of such a system will be that of a positively charged superconducting superfluid in a negativel...
متن کاملClustering in Interfering Binary Mixtures
Colloids are binary mixtures of molecules with one type of molecule suspended in another. It is believed that at low density typical configurations will be well-mixed throughout, while at high density they will separate into clusters. We characterize the high and low density phases for a general family of discrete interfering binary mixtures by showing that they exhibit a “clustering property” ...
